1. What we collect, and why
TOMOMI RESEARCH, INC. ("we", "us") operates https://www.tomomi-research.com. This section explains what personal data we collect there, and what we use it for.
When you use the enquiry form or the document download form
We collect what you enter: your name, company, work email address, and — where you choose to provide them — your department or role, telephone number, how you inspect today, a description of what you need to see, an attached photograph or drawing, and how you heard about us.
We use this only to answer your enquiry and, if you tick the box, to send you product information and technical material.
What you send is stored in this website's database so that we can find your enquiry again, and it is also sent to us by email.
To keep the forms usable for business enquiries, the form checks the domain of the email address you enter and does not accept free-mail or mobile-carrier addresses. This check looks the domain up in DNS and does not keep the result.
When you send us a sample
If you send us a photograph, a drawing or a physical part so that we can image it, we use it only to consider your enquiry. It is not shown outside the company. Parts are returned as soon as we have imaged them, and in any case within three months of our receiving them; we pay the return carriage. We can sign a non-disclosure agreement before you send anything.
Photographs and drawings are deleted together with the record of your enquiry, after the period set out below.
When you simply browse
This site loads Google Analytics 4 on every page. It sets cookies and records how pages are used: the pages you view, the page you came from, your approximate location, and your device and browser. We use this only to understand how the site is read.
If you would rather this were not collected, you can install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on or disable cookies in your browser.
Embedded content from other sites (video, images, posts) behaves exactly as if you had visited that site: those sites may collect data about you, use cookies and embed additional tracking.
2. How long we keep it

3. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data and we do not disclose it to third parties, except:
- Google LLC, as the operator of the analytics service described above
- where disclosure is required by law
We also entrust part of the handling to a hosting provider in Japan, who runs the server and the mail for this site, and we supervise them accordingly. We entrust the handling of personal data to no one else. We use no CRM and no marketing platform.
4. Your rights
You may ask us what personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, add to it, delete it, or stop using it. Write to the address below.
- Please write from the email address you used when you contacted us, and tell us your company and roughly when you were in touch, so that we can match your request against our records. If we cannot establish that the request is yours, we cannot act on it.
- If someone is asking on your behalf, please enclose a written authority.
- We reply within two weeks as a rule. If we need longer, we will tell you why and when to expect an answer.
- There is no charge.
