Launch of E3 Anomaly Synthetic Generator

On October 27, 2026, TOMOMI RESEARCH Inc. released “E3 Anomaly Synthetic Generator,” software for creating synthetic NG data. This Windows software takes good (OK) images and texture images, creates synthetic NG images containing defects synthesized by this software, each paired with a ground-truth mask that marks the defect location pixel by pixel, and exports them in an MVTec-compatible folder structure.

As software in the E3 ENGINE family, it handles data preparation; it does not make pass/fail decisions. It is sold separately from E3 ENGINE, can be used on its own, and its output can also be handed to other inspection AI that reads the MVTec format.

Before mass production, there are no defective parts yet, and the defects that do appear are skewed toward a few types. Instead of waiting until defective parts have accumulated, you can prepare the defects you want the AI to look for in advance.

A free evaluation version is available: 14 days, no feature restrictions, not for commercial use.

* The defects shown were synthesized by this software. They are not photographs of actual defective products.
* The examples shown were selected from 3,600 images synthesized by this software.
* Defects synthesized by this software are not the same as actual defects. We do not guarantee the detection rate or accuracy of inspection AI trained with synthetic NG images, and synthetic NG images do not replace verification with actual defective products.
