Exhibition Report: FORESIGHT STEREO Featured at ITE 2025

At ITE 2025 (International Technical Exhibition on Image Technology and Equipment), held in December 2025, TOMOMI RESEARCH's FORESIGHT STEREO high-speed 3D imaging was exhibited in the booth of Leimac.

The demo combined a line scan camera with multi-directional illumination to perform
3D surface visualization by high-speed Photometric Stereo in real time.
It drew attention as a technology that captures in 3D, even on high-speed lines, fine relief on long products and roll materials that is hard to judge with conventional 2D inspection.

Demo overview: line scan x multi-directional illumination x high-speed 3D processing

In the exhibited system, Leimac's high-performance illumination and a line scan camera were controlled in sync,
achieving the following processing in real time.

  • High-speed 3D conversion (34 ms / 4 input images)
  • High-resolution processing supporting 8K/16K line scan cameras
  • 3D Surface reconstruction of fine relief
  • Better discrimination through defect-highlighting display

Many visitors told us things like "It's amazing that this much 3D is possible on a high-speed line" and "Defects that can't be seen in 2D stand out."

What visitors valued in FORESIGHT STEREO

The points of FORESIGHT STEREO that were especially highly rated were:

  • Very high-speed processing (among the fastest in the industry)
  • High-precision 3D visualization with normal maps
  • Flexibility that makes it easy to deploy on general-purpose systems

We also received specific application inquiries from many industries,
including battery manufacturing, films and sheets, and molded resin products.

Next steps

Through its collaboration with Leimac, TOMOMI RESEARCH will accelerate
the practical application of Photometric Stereo technology optimized for line scan environments.

We sincerely thank everyone who visited, and Leimac for supporting the exhibit.
We will keep advancing our technology toward a future where you can see what you need to see.
